The FBI Gave Us Trump

Kevin Drum details the bad slump in Hillary's support after Comey went after her...twice.  

Can the citizenry not see that a coup has occurred?  

What a huge shadow now falls upon the United States.  

This next stretch of right wing false piety is seriously going to damage us. Does the religious right have now insight into how they are being used?

We all will suffer, Democrats, the GOP alike, and the nation will be stalled in the lack of progress we might have made toward more unity as a nation.  

But not now, and largely because of the FBI...and maybe even the Russians.

And everyone's waiting to hear Comey spill the beans?

I am once again reading Hemingway's "A CleanWell-Lighted Place," the story that is often cited as an example of his style.

The style is minimalist and Hemingway often compared it to an iceberg:  the sentence is simply what has surfaced in the writing...underneath is all that is discarded, unsaid, unclear.  It is good counsel but hard to practice in daily writing.  But the advice will lead writers to a stronger stye.  The other part of Hemingway is his use of hard, distinctive descriptions of objects, ideas, times, or people.  This style is what Hemingway is most remembered for.
