When I watch television on the politics of the next presidency, over and over I hear about Hillary Clinton as being "untrustworthy." The media seems to take this as an established fact, the "rap" on Hillary.
Hillary Clinton has been the target of right-wing scandal-mongering for years now; the GOP has long assumed she would run for President. And so they start their smear campaign. I don't get it that she gets such bad marks from the press for being 'untrustworthy,' a characteristic that for decades has been a principal target of Republican propaganda. Indeed, I have a good friend who wrote me a few weeks back saying he couldn't vote for Trump, but never for Hillary because she is a "crook."? She has fought the GOP for decades and it seems the lies never stop.
Am I missing something here? When an entire political party, the fugitive part of Southern racism (now spread to other parts of the U.S. and all engineered by GOP operatives), "books" that enumerate endless scandals on the part of the Clintons, and so forth, why does the media have to carry water for Republicans and their propaganda?
Too much of today's politics is reporting on "what everyone knows" about the Clintons. Why can't media simply run stories that conclude, about her "scandals", that these are unproven charges leveled by the GOP and based on bogus books and muckraking.
Have we gone totally insane in our politics in that we find it hard to choose between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton? Fox News has poisoned our national politics and the media goes with the flow and the rumors and the smears because it is good copy and because it results in millions of "clicks" on Internet pages.
